If you’re a sports fanatic, or just a fan of all the delicious food that goes with watching a football or basketball game then you’ll be pleased to know in the past few months three new sports bars have opened in the CBD.
The Spotted Cow and The Toowoomba Sports Club have always been the go-to sport watching locations with their multiple large screens and tasty food.
Now, you can watch your favourite team on the big screen at The Top Bar which is located above The Rock, at the revamped Tatts Hotel which has the city’s largest screen and Tailgate Sports Bar.
Tailgate Sports Bar
The Tailgate Sports Bar is the latest to open in the city and the whole venue is dedicated to sports and game food such as chilli fries, Philly cheesesteaks, Coney Island hot dogs, waffle brownie sundaes and homemade pies.
It opened earlier this month at Walton Stores at the former location of Harajoku.
Ben Whibley had been passionate about opening his own sports bar for six years and is thrilled to have that now be a reality.
The venue is lined with television screens, showing games and matches from all across the world.
Along with the delicious food, which can be altered to suit those with gluten intolerances and who are vegan, it also has 10 beers on tap and 30 others in stock.
The Tatts Hotel
The Tatts Hotel has undergone major renovations thanks to its new owner Christina Scarborough.
Not only does it now have a coastal vibe with hanging greenery, cane basket lighting and a cocktail bar, it also has a dedicated sports bar at the back of the venue.
It boasts Toowoomba’s largest screen as well as a number of other screens which enable multiple games to be viewed at once.
It also has a pool table and seating which is perfect for large gatherings.
The menu is all new and patrons can indulge new items such as Texan style buffalo wings, chorizo croquettes, sticky riblets, burgers and pizzas.
The Top Bar
The Top Bar opened late last year above The Rock.
It operates as a large covered deck and public bar from Friday through to Sunday.
The Top Bar level offers casual Fox Sports viewing across nine 62-inch screens as well as local live music.
Patrons are also able to order a range of food from main meals such as steaks, linguine, pork belly to starters such as Moreton Bay bug rolls, Korean fried chicken and pulled pork tacos.
