Following on from the success of their recent upgrade to secondary school facilities in September last year, Darling Downs Christian School has announced the opening of their Tiny Seeds Kindy to the delight of both students and their fluffy new class pets.

The new kindy facilities offer families of Glenvale and the greater Toowoomba area

the opportunity to access a unique Queensland Government approved play-based program.

Principal at Darling Downs Christian School, Adrian Fitzpatrick said selecting the right kindergarten for your child was a very important decision.

“Through our new kindy program we recognise the talents of children and provide opportunities for social, emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual growth.”

Established in 1942, Mr Fitzpatrick said Darling Downs Christian School has always

endeavoured to partner closely with families and the community.

“The Glenvale area is a growing community, and it is important for us to grow with it,” Mr Fitzpatrick said.

Kindergarten teacher Robyn Crisp said so far the classes nine students are settling into their new classroom and enjoying getting to know each other and learning more about the world around them.

“The Tiny Seeds kindy program focuses largely around the Seventh Day Adventist framework as well as the importance of caring for the environment through recycling and gardening,” she said.

“We have several garden beds we’re planning to plant full of fruit and vegetables and we’ve just recently welcomed two little chicks to the classroom so it will be wonderful for the student to learn about responsibility by caring for the gardens and chickens.”

Focusing on ‘nurturing the whole child’ as a kindergarten to year 12 educational facility, Darling Downs Christian School can now offer families a school where their children can build a strong sense of community.

“It’s quite rare for schools to offer education from kindy right through to senior years,” Ms Crisp said.

“I think that’s what makes Darling Downs Christian School special as students are now able to start their school experience here and grow and develop all the way through their educational journey right here in Glenvale.”

Although class sizes are limited, several children and their families have already enrolled in the Early Years Learning Framework program and the kindergarten is open for tours with prospective new families every day after 3.30pm and all day Friday.

Located on McDougal Street, Glenvale, Tiny Seeds Kindy has commenced its 2021 program in line with the school term.
