Thanks to one of their generous families, Rosemont Cottage Eco-Early Education and Care have launched their very own book and seed library this week.
Director Tash Hahn said the library would be a fantastic way for their students, as well as the Toowoomba community, to enjoy having access to more books and to learn more about taking care of the environment.

“Our new street library was lovingly made by the Schmidt family from 100 per cent recycled materials,” she said.

“Every aspect of the little library has a story, from the timber, to the door handle and even the little chimney on top.

“It’s our hope that our street library will grow to symbolise a love of children’s books, the importance of sustainability and an appreciation of community, which are all part of the Rosemont Cottage ethos.”

The little library, located at the front of the centre on Hume St is open to all members of the community and allows children across Toowoomba to swap and share books and seeds.

“We invite the wider community, and our Rosemont Cottage friends to take a book, give a book and share a book – children’s books that is,” Ms Hahn said.

“We’re also hoping to share seeds and produce from out organic fruit and veggie garden and invite the community to share their seeds with us too.

“We will be officially registering our street library this week so the wider Toowoomba community can find it.”
