Battery World Toowoomba: Iconic city business opens new store after devastating fire

A Toowoomba business is back in action, more than a year after a devastating fire forced its owners to relocate to a new premises.

An iconic retailer has reopened its doors more than a year after fire ravaged its CBD location.

A battery exploded in the premises of the James Street store, which sparked a small structure fire on September 6, 2021.

The blaze put the store’s original location out of action.

Partners Ruthie and Howdie Farrar opened a pop-up store further down James Street while a new store was built about 100 metres from the original location.

The new premises has now opened its doors.

“We’re grateful that everybody is safe and well, and we’re excited to bring even more services to our local community from our new and improved store,” Howdie said.

many more years of providing Toowoomba with fantastic service and the best Aussie-made

products.”

The new store is located at 166A James St, South Toowoomba
