Aussie Queen of Pop invited to region after viral video

The viral video of the region which features Kylie Minogue caught the attention of the pop sensation, who tweeted her love for the video to millions of followers. Now, she’s invited to visit.

ST GEORGE REGION EXTENDS INVITATION TO AUSTRALIA’S QUEEN OF POP.

Having risen to viral fame with its fun bush parody of Tourism Australia’s Matesong ad featuring Kylie Minogue, the St George region is taking a second shot at the campaign which won hearts across Australia.

The St George Matesong reached an audience of more than 136,000 people and was shared more than 930 times following its early 2020 release.

It even caught the attention of Ms Minogue, who tweeted her love for the video to millions of followers.

With Ms Minogue now back on Australian shores, the St George region has released a new video, featuring locals personally inviting the Queen of Pop to visit.

Balonne Shire mayor Samantha O’Toole extended the invitation to her on behalf of the shire, and thanked her for embracing the St George Matesong.

“Shortly after we released the original video we invited Kylie to visit but COVID-19 came along and shut our borders,” she said.

“Now the stars have aligned for us, with interstate travel opening up and Kylie being in Australia right now so we would love to once again invite her to come and see everything in our wonderful region which inspired the St George Matesong.

“We can’t wait to roll out the red carpet across our amazing backyard, so come on, Kylie. You’ll have the holiday of a lifetime in the St George region.”

The video invitation to Ms Minogue features appearances from a life-size cardboard cut out of her likeness, just to illustrate what a whirlwind trip around the St George region could look like.

Many enthusiastic locals also appear in the clip.
