After the recent Brisbane COVID outbreak and wet weather led to an unfortunate cancellation of Music At the Big Cow, the Highï¬elds Pioneer Village is preparing to host the concert on Anzac Day.
Running from 10am-4pm Sunday, the Pioneer Village will host Brendon Walmsley, Jim Strohfeld, Wayne Young, Michelle Schneider, Owen Ray from the Countdowns, Sue Ray and Terry Arnold, as well as shearing, beekeeping, tours of the Big Cow, butter making, fire engines, steam train and vintage Ford bus rides.
There will also be camping available as well as the village’s famous billy tea and damper, ice-cream and a sausage sizzle on offer.
Volunteer manager at the Highfields Pioneer Village, Ray Ashford said the concert was an important opportunity for the Village to raise some much-needed funds and was hoping plenty of locals and tourists would get behind the event.
“It was actually a long-time supporter of the Village and local musician Owen Ray’s idea to hold an event on Anzac Day to try and raise some funds for the Village as we are starting to scrape the barrel right now and we want the Historical Village to continue to be around for a long time to come,” he said.
“This year was our second wet Easter in a row which has been tough on the Village so it’s important this weekend goes really well.”
Tickets to the 25th of April Concert are $25 for adults and $10 for kids and are available online via the Highfield’s Pioneer Village website.
