Two babies given name that ‘means so much’ to Police Commissioner Grant Stevens and wife Emma
Two babies born in the extended family of Police Commissioner Grant Stevens have been gifted a special name in honour of his late teenage son Charlie Stevens.

Police Commissioner Grant Stevens and wife Emma have welcomed their second grandchild, and the little girl carries a very special name.
Annabelle Charlie Tregloen was born at Ashford Hospital on Wednesday, March 13, weighing in at 2.3kg, or 5.2lb on the old scale.
Her second name is in honour of her uncle, 18-year-old Charlie Stevens, who was killed in an alleged hit run at Goolwa in November last year.
Annabelle is the second child to Grant and Emma’s daughter, Sophie and husband Kieran.
Just two days earlier, on Adelaide Cup Day last week, the Stevens’ niece and cousin, Abby Price, and her partner Andy Press, welcomed a little boy. His name is Dusty Charles, another nod to the cheeky and much-loved teenager.
Abby is the daughter of Emma’s sister Belinda Price, 48, a popular member of the SA racing fraternity who died in May last year after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Commissioner Stevens says the two arrivals have brought much joy.
“It’s overwhelming,” he said.
“Two gorgeous little babies who now have a legacy they probably won’t appreciate but it means so much to everyone in the family.
“Charlie would be making absolute mileage out of it.”
Sophie Tregloen told mourners at Charlie’s funeral last year that her “fun, life-loving baby brother” would always be a special part of her family’s life.
“Charlie, I promise Kieran and I will always ensure you’re part of the conversations around our family dinner table,” she said.
“Ollie and your little niece will always know, their Uncle Charlie was the coolest, fun-loving and wild guy that lived life to the absolute fullest.”
The 18-year-old accused of killing Charlie Stevens, Dhirren Singh Randhawa of Encounter Bay, will face court again next month.
