Buying a house is the ultimate Australian dream, but one new Toowoomba business is set to make the experience a gift that keeps on giving.

Amie Storey always dreamt of starting her own business and loved spoiling the special people in her life with presents, but she never imagined combining the two concepts – until now.

Launching her business Settlement Day By Boxed just this week, the 20-year-old new business owner sells luxury hampers for real estate professionals to gift to clients who have purchased a home.

The unique concept all came about when Ms Storey’s boyfriend, who works as a real estate agent, first planted the seed.

“He was expressing his frustrations because he was struggling to find a settlement gift for a client, and he jokingly said ‘why don’t you do it as a business?” she said.

Keen to make the special occasion that little bit sweeter, Ms Storey said the thought of her gift boxes bringing others joy was all part of the fun.

With a range of options available, some boxes are filled with goodies including champagne, cocktail mixers, garnishes, candles, pantry items, condiments and Metiisto chocolate, among others.

Non-alcoholic and alcoholic gift hampers are also available.

“My favourite box is one called The Taste of Toowoomba and I’m trying to support as many local businesses as possible and sourcing items locally,” Ms Storey said.

Not one to limit herself to just the one project, the ambitious business owner also plans to tap into the corporate and private catering and events sector.
