A young man who lost his life in a tragic crash will be farewelled at a service in Toowoomba on May 9.
Jake Raymond Baillie was aged just 26 when he was killed in a two-vehicle crash on April 15.
The crash happened about noon on the New England Highway near the intersection of Drayton Connection Rd and Erbacher Rd at Cambooya when a Holden Astra being driven by Mr Baillie collided with a Volkswagen Amarok travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a 73-year-old Nobby man, and a passenger, a 70-year-old Nobby woman, were also injured and taken to Toowoomba Hospital.
Friends have paid tribute to the young father via social media in the weeks after his death, expressing their shock at the news of his sudden death.
“I can’t believe you’re gone since I found out I just haven’t let myself come to terms with it not wanting it to be true,” one friend wrote.
“You’ll forever be missed and remembered.”
“Save me a seat Jakey,” another friend wrote.
“Jake was a nice, polite young man. Forever remembered.”
“RIP Jake, you’re with the angels now, fly high.”
Mr Baillie’s funeral will be held at the T.S Burstow Chapel at 1020 Ruthven St, South Toowoomba at 9.30am on May 9.
