A North Queensland resident has allegedly violently punched a RSL volunteer and pushed aside another member of staff after an argument escalated.

A Proserpine resident has allegedly violently punched a RSL volunteer and pushed aside another member of staff after an argument escalated.
Police were called to an incident at the Proserpine RSL premises on Chapman St after two people were allegedly injured by a 37-year-old male after 10.30pm on Thursday.
Police allege a 31-year-old woman was punched multiple times in the face and in the abdomen after an argument turned violent.
Police further allege that a 77-year-old male was pushed aside by the man when he left the venue.
Proserpine RSL treasurer Brian Dunlop, 77, said he was present when the incident occurred and was the person police say had been pushed over by the 37-year-old male.
He also said the woman who was injured in the incident was RSL volunteer Nadia Federuzzi, a mum-of-six that had sustained a fracture to her eye socket.
He said the extent of her injury meant she would need to get it checked by an expert at Townsville hospital.
Police confirmed the 31-year-old woman sustained serious facial injuries and the 77-year-old man suffered bruising and abrasions.
The 37-year-old was charged with grievous bodily harm, assault and robbery. No pleas have been entered.
He appeared in front of the Gladstone Magistrates Court on Saturday.
