The case of a Riordanvale woman accused of dangerously driving her car while drunk causing the death of a Whitsundays man has returned to court.

Lucy Caroline Jenkins, 43, was involved in a serious car crash in Strathdickie near Airlie Beach which resulted in the death of the other car’s driver.

Neale David Williams, 67, died from his injuries at the scene on August 20.

Police had earlier alleged Ms Jenkins’ ute crossed onto the other side of the road and collided with Mr Williams’ car.

Ms Jenkins is charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death, driving UIL, as well as three other charges of causing a public nuisance in licensed premises, possessing dangerous drugs and a breach of bail.

Potts Lawyers solicitor Danielle Hanson told the court the two charges related to the crash should proceed to district court and asked Magistrate Athol Kennedy to give defence more time to conduct additional case conferencing.

She told the court nothing further about the case would be disclosed until the next mention.

The case was adjourned until June 17.

Bail was granted.
