A woman has been charged following a police investigation into a four-year-old boy’s serious fall off a balcony in beachside suburb, which left him with significant head and facial injuries.
A police spokeswoman said a 29-year-old Sunshine Beach woman had been charged last week with one count of cruelty to children under 16 years.
The four-year-old boy fell from a balcony at a residential property on Park Crescent in Sunshine Beach just before midday on Saturday, June 14.
He was flown to the Queensland Childrens Hospital in a stable condition, with significant head and facial injuries, a Queensland ambulance spokeswoman said at the time of the incident.
The police spokeswoman said the four-year-old boy had since been released from hospital.
The 29-year-old was issued a notice to appear by police and is expected to go before the Noosa magistrates court on Tuesday, July 8.
