Sunshine Coast, Noosa to receive millions in state-funded projects
More than 40 projects worth millions have been promised across the Sunshine Coast, from crucial road upgrades to local sports club improvements.

Grants for local sporting clubs and multimillion-dollar road upgrades are among the many projects promised by the Queensland government for the Sunshine Coast.
Residents in Caloundra can expect to see the most in regards to state-funded projects, with a total of 13 commitments assigned on treasury’s budget map.
Here is a look at everything set to be delivered across the region.
Caloundra
New primary school in Caloundra South.
New TAFE is set to be built in Caloundra.
$4m for an upgrade to Caloundra CBD streetscapes, events hub and library.
$1m for lighting at four sports clubs: Caloundra Senior Rugby League Club, Pelican Waters Bowls Club, Baringa Football Club and Caloundra Rugby Union.
Stage one of The Wave – bus service from Birtinya through Maroochydore to Sunshine Coast Airport.
$7.5m to replace Caloundra’s fire and rescue station.
$5m for food rescue at Gateway Care.
$1m for the Currimundi United Football Club to upgrade the clubhouse.
$1m Currimundi Community Hall upgrade.
$32k for the Dicky Beach Surf Club to upgrade with vital equipment.
Completing a connection road between Nicklin Way to Third Ave to ease traffic congestion.
$520k for Virtues Improving Relational Behaviours Education Hub in Caloundra, a service for kids at risk of becoming disengaged with school.
Four new Speed Awareness Monitoring signs for Aura Boulevard.
Bribie Island
$20m for solutions to the erosion caused by the Bribie Island breakthrough.
Kawana
$10m for the Kawana Waters Surf Lifesaving Club.
$166k for aircon or AV equipment at Kawana Waters State College, Pacific Lutheran College, Talara Primary College and Meridan State College.
Maroochydore
$y620k for the Maroochydore Rugby Union Club lighting upgrade.
Mooloolaba Rd and Sugar Rd intersection upgrade.
Works towards the Mooloolaba Rd, Syd Lingard Dr to Tantula Rd West intersection upgrade.
$128,560 for shade structures at Mountain Creek State School.
Mooloolah River Interchange upgrade – stage one.
$166k for either AV equipment or airconditioning in the hall at Buddina State School.
Beerwah
$225k to deliver a 99-year lease for Beerwah Golf Club and fund the fairway irrigation.
$10m to replace fire and rescue station at Beerwah.
$89k to upgrade the Landsborough Community Kindy.
Funding Kilcoy-Beerwah and Peachester Rd upgrades.
Maleny
$600k towards the upgrading of Maple St pathways in Maleny.
Intersection upgrade at Landsborough- Maleny and Maleny-Montville Rds.
Nambour
$500k for the Nambour CBD CCTV upgrade.
$1m for Everyday Foundation for renovations to Nambour premises.
Accessibility upgrades to Woombye State School.
Upgrades at Nambour Connection Rd and Diddillibah Rd intersection.
$540k for the Palmwoods Warriors Football club upgrade.
$2m for a cycle lane on Petrie Creek Rd.
Bli Bli
Pedestrian upgrades to roads in Bli Bli.
Kuluin
Better footpaths for Kuluin State School.
Buderim
$250k on Khancoban Park for shade structures, playground equipment and park furniture.
Coolum Beach
Two new south-facing ramps at the Sunshine Coast Motorway at Mt Coolum to help ease traffic in the area.
$5m for stage one of the AFL precinct to be built at Coolum State High School.
North Arm
Upgrades to parking and drop off zones at North Arm State School.
Peregian Springs
$25k for the tuckshop at Peregian Springs State School.
Noosa
$1m for coastal walk upgrades in Noosa.
$427.7m for the Lake McDonald Dam project to meet modern engineering standards.
Business case to link Elm St and Myall and Diamond St in the Cooroy Intersection upgrades program.
$500k for the Cooroy Sports Complex lighting upgrades.
$1m for new public toilets at Gympie Tce at Noosa foreshore.
New boat infrastructure in the Noosa River to “reduce pressure” on local parking.
$44k for the Noosa Tennis Club lighting upgrade.
$15k for the Noosa Little Athletics program.
$25k for the Noosa Pirates Rugby League Club to install solar panels.
