A Queensland Police Service spokesman said police were called to the crash after left the road and smashed into a tree.
The driver and passenger of the car were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Forensic Crash Unit investigations are ongoing.
Mr Wise’s sister, Jasmine Wise, 26, said it’s been a “horribly traumatising” few weeks for the family.
She said his injuries were life changing and extensive.
Mr Wise suffered a perforated bowel in three areas, with Ms Wise saying “his intestines exploded and broke into three pieces”.
He’s still unable to eat and had seven surgeries to try put his bowel back together. Sadly he suffered an infection from one of the surgeries.
Mr Wise’s face was also “shattered” in the crash.
“He has a shattered face … it’s just completely shattered I don’t know how else to describe it. He will need facial reconstruction,” Ms Wise said.
The Noosa man also suffered a damaged eye socket, collapsed lung, multiple broken ribs, a broken sternum, a broken back in multiple places, a spinal injury, a fractured pelvis, a fractured tailbone, fractured elbow, fractured foot, and he’s sustained damage to his voice box/vocal chords.
Mr Wise currently has a stoma bag and is unable to eat, with doctors saying he needs to heal for another six to 12 months before they start operating again.
“At first he was very swollen and full of fluids,” Ms Wise said.
“He was unrecognisable but thankfully the swelling is starting to go down.”
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched help his family following the crash.
Ms Wise said they don’t yet know what his future will look like but have hope he will pull through.
“He is an adventurer at heart,” Ms Wise said.
“He’s always out in the bush and loves camping, fishing, and adventures.
“He’s fun loving and great to be around.
“Just a really calm and well liked person.”
Although it’s been a harrowing time for him and his family, Ms Wise admitted it could have been much worse.
“He’s so lucky he’s not paralysed he would have hated not being able to walk again,” she said.
“Four weeks on and he’s just been cleared to stand. He can’t walk yet but he will be able to.
“He didn’t deserve any of it. It’s been horribly traumatic and awful.
“Tyler is not doing well. He’s scarred for life and is looking at serious PTSD from this and none of it’s his fault - he wasn’t driving.”
