Here are 17 Coast offenders who have faced court for supplying or trafficking drugs in the region.

A Sunshine Coast woman was jailed for six-and-a-half years for running a wholesale methamphetamine racket over two periods, and being involved in a gunpoint robbery where a victim was stabbed.

Mountain Creek woman Anikee Doreen Judy Sarre, 25, a former childcare worker of five years, pleaded guilty in Brisbane Supreme Court in May to a variety of offences.

They included two counts of trafficking in a dangerous drug, possessing a commercial quantity of a drug, meth, armed robbery in company, and assault occasioning bodily harm.

Justice Thomas Bradley sentenced Sarre to six-and-a-half years’ imprisonment and granted her immediate parole eligibility.

A prominent Sunshine Coast ex-realtor and junior rugby league football club volunteer trafficked an extraordinary amount of cocaine and cannabis, shelling out up to $25,000 at a time to purchase drugs, a court heard.

Coolum Beach man Mahdi Green, 40, a former agent at LJ Hooker Peregian Beach and volunteer at a Sunshine Coast JRLFC, winning Volunteer of the Year in 2019, pleaded guilty in Brisbane Supreme Court in July to one count of drug trafficking.

Green was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment, eligible for parole after serving 16 months.

A Coast man who lived a “blameless” life before he supplied a 16-year-old with drugs on a number of occasions avoided a prison sentence.

Police raided Barry Robert Mcgilvery’s Beerwah address on April 29 last year when he admitted to supplying a 16-year-old close female relative with marijuana.

Mcgilvery pleaded guilty to four counts of aggravated supply of dangerous drugs to a minor 16 years or more, one of possessing dangerous drugs and possessing property suspected of having been used in the commission of a drug offence.

He was fined Mcgilvery $1500 and ordered to complete 50 hours of community service in one year.

Two Gympie region men who were the target of an undercover police sting in 2020 fronted Gympie District Court in May to be sentenced for supplying dangerous drugs throughout Gympie and the Sunshine Coast.

John Stefan Konkol, 50, and 38-year-old Jason Troy Straun Robertson both pleaded guilty to supplying methylamphetamine.

Konkol pleaded guilty to supplying a dangerous drug, and possessing of a dangerous drug and utensil.

Robertson pleaded guilty to two counts of supplying a dangerous drug, and one count of possessing anything used to carry out a crime.

Konkol was fined $1000, and Robertson was sentenced to 15 months jail.

Robertson was released on parole immediately, and placed on three years probation.

A small time meth dealer avoided actual jail time for organising multiple sales of the illegal drug over the course of a week, including one while waiting at court to deal with charges stemming from her own drug use.

Caloundra’s Jodie Knowles pleaded guilty in the Gympie District Court in March to distributing between 0.1g and 0.5g of methamphetamine to five different people over an eight day stretch from January 15-22 last year.

Knowles pleaded guilty to eight counts of supplying a dangerous drug and one count of dispensing a dangerous drug.

She was given a 20 month jail sentence with immediate parole.

Fitness instructor used Grindr app to deal drugs

A Sunshine Coast fitness instructor dealt party-drug MDMA and cannabis via the gay hook-up application Grindr, a court heard.

Sippy Downs man Jason Devlin, 41, was arrested on April 30 last year after a police raid at his address uncovered a cornucopia of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

In Brisbane Supreme Court in April, Devlin pleaded guilty to nine counts of supplying a dangerous drug and one count each of possessing a Schedule 1 dangerous drug, a dangerous drug, a controlled drug, a restricted drug, among other minor drug charges.

He was sentenced to two-and-a-half years‘ imprisonment with court-ordered parole after time served, a period of 342 days.

A young Sunshine Coast DJ who performs regularly at some of the region’s best-known venues pleaded guilty to trafficking in party-drug MDMA, telling an undercover officer he was ordering one ounce “rocks” at a time to split up and sell.

Sippy Downs man Louis Wade Quinn, 21, who performs under the name LOQI at venues including 1911 (upstairs at the Duporth Tavern), NightQuarter and the Helm (since closed), was sentenced in Brisbane Supreme Court in April.

Quinn was sentenced to two years’ probation conditional on him submitting to urinary analysis testing.

He was ordered to repay the $1050 the undercover officers paid him.

A young Sunshine Coast woman was convicted of drug trafficking after the seizure of mail brimming with psychedelic drugs led police to the narcotics operation she shared with her now ex-boyfriend.

Sunrise Beach woman Leanna Eve Olivero, 24, pleaded guilty in Brisbane Supreme Court in June to 11 drug-related counts, including trafficking.

Justice Soraya Ryan sentenced her to three years’ imprisonment with immediate parole, allowing her release on the day.

She’d already spent a period of 28 months in custody.

A former Mountain Creek meth-addict was dealing up to 7g of ice per day, buying an ounce of drug for $3300 on at least one occasion, while using it himself, a court heard.

Ebbw Vale man Troy Graham King, 29, a former resident of Mountain Creek on the Sunshine Coast, pleaded guilty in Brisbane Supreme Court in May to five drug-related offences, which included trafficking in ice, possessing a commercial quantity of ice and a smaller amount of another drug, and possessing cash and a mobile phone.

He was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment on the count of trafficking, to be suspended for a period of three years after serving 12 months, which occurred in late May.

On the count of possessing a commercial quantity of ice, King was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment, with immediate court-ordered parole.

‘Deplorable’: Juvenile ice trafficker finally convicted after 34 chances

A young Sunshine Coast ice trafficker, whose period of dealing partially occurred when he was a juvenile, was jailed for a year and finally had convictions recorded, after 34 previous orders failed to stem his offending.

The 18-year-old from Maroochydore, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, had a staggering criminal history, Brisbane District Court heard in June, including offences relating to drugs, property and, more seriously, violence, including armed robbery and attempted armed robbery.

The court heard the current offending, which the teen pleaded guilty to, involved carrying on the business of trafficking in ice for about six weeks between May 25 and July 7 last year.

The teen was currently serving out a sentence for which parole was indefinitely suspended, with a full-time release date in October.

Justice Glenn Martin extended this by sentencing the teen to 12 months‘ imprisonment, with parole release after serving 50 per cent, which will be on November 21 this year.

Police raided Jake James McDonald’s Woombye home at 5am on December 3, 2018, after intercepting a suspicious phone call the then 28-year-old received about a drug deal.

McDonald pleaded guilty in Maroochydore District Court in February to two counts of unlawfully supplying dangerous drugs and one each of possessing dangerous drugs, possessing a thing used in connection with supplying drugs and possessing things used to produce a dangerous drug.

He was sentenced to one year in jail with immediate release on parole.

A Coast drug dealer charged with 16 counts of supplying methamphetamines while on probation avoided jail time after a court heard she had a “traumatic” brain injury which could put her at risk in custody.

Maree Ann Johnson, 39, faced the Maroochydore District Court for sentencing in March after pleading guilty to all 16 charges last year.

The mother-of-two was charged with supplying drugs after police searched her house in 2019, finding digital scales and two mobile phones which were analysed, revealing her details of her dealing.

She was given head sentence of two and a half years with immediate parole.

Convicted drug trafficker’s ‘life ruined’ by 7 year fight

A convicted Sunshine Coast synthetic cannabis trafficker has had her life “ruined” due to a seven-year delay in the court proceedings.

Phaedra Joy Barrett, 49, pleaded guilty in May to trafficking and producing dangerous drugs from April 2013 to August 2014, and possessing cash and other items used to run her synthetics cannabis business on the Sunshine Coast.

The mother of two had previously appealed a court ruling after she was found guilty by a judge-only trial and sentenced to two years imprisonment in 2020. She served 198 days in prison before winning her appeal.

She was convicted and given a suspended 18-month sentence.

Judge Nicole Kefford said she considered the 198 days Barrett had already served when she determined the Doonan woman’s sentence.

Dad cries as judge reveals fate after Coast raid

A father found growing more than 100 marijuana plants fidgeted and cried in a Coast court while being sentenced for a string of drug offences.

Trent Anthony Malcolm was growing 111 marijuana plants and possessed a further 17.8kg of the drug when police raided a Cootharaba property on June 10, last year.

Malcolm pleaded guilty in Maroochydore District Court in May to offences including 10 counts of supplying, producing and possessing dangerous drugs.

He was sentenced to 18 months in jail to be released on parole on July 30.

A mum of young children was sentenced for dealing methamphetamine in exchange for a bottle of perfume.

Police raided Kylie Maree Herberts’ Buderim home and car at 5pm on March 21, 2019, finding just under 1g of marijuana, small amounts of methamphetamine, clip seal bags, $850 in cash and a phone.

Herberts, then-42, pleaded guilty to six charges including supplying a Schedule 1 dangerous drug in August last year.

She was given a 12-month jail sentence with immediate parole.

A Coast mum was busted supplying meth after an operation targeting drug traffickers led police to her, Maroochydore District Court heard.

Emma Lee Crang, 37, was supported by her mother and the father of her youngest child when she pleaded guilty in June to supplying meth.

She was placed on 15 months on probation.
