TOP 20: From industry veterans to the new guns changing the game, the Daily has named the region’s top 42 real estate agents in residential and commercial property.

From industry veterans to the new guns changing the game, the Sunshine Coast Daily has named the region's top 42 real estate agents in residential and commercial property.

Today we will reveal part two of a three-part series that looks at which agents and agencies have the biggest influence on the Sunshine Coast.

Agents were selected on their connections to high-profile people, their volume of sales, community contributions and how they had made their mark in the region.

On Tuesday we unveiled 42-21 of the list, now it's hammer time with our top 20.

20: Jodie Hedley Ward

Jodie Hedley-Ward was named as finalist for the most influential woman in property at the annual REA Excellence Awards in 2018.

Experienced, award-winning principal of McGrath Caloundra.

Her agency was last year named the RateMyAgent's Sunshine Coast agency of the year.

She is the top ranked female agent for McGrath in Queensland and one of the top 10 nationally and a former winner of the Sunshine Coast corporate businesswoman.

She is known for her charitable contributions and formidable sales record - she has sold 63 homes throughout Kawana, Parrearra, Birtinya and Meridan Plains in past 12 months.

McGrath Caloundra sold more than 200 properties in the past year at more than $170 million.

19: Mark McGill

An agent of more than a decade who won the prestigious national award for excellence in customer service at the realestate.com.au Annual REA Excellence Awards.

He's a former member of the Maroochydore Chamber of Commerce and on the board of the Urban Development Institute of Australia Sunshine Coast branch and is influential in food and fine wine as well as property.

During his time at Amber Werchon Property, Mr McGill was a two-time winner of the Real Estate Industry of Queensland salesperson of the year.

He recently celebrated one year as principal of McGill Group.

18: Nick Dowling

Comes from a family of agents who came to the Coast in 2004 and is now the managing director and owner of Colliers International Sunshine Coast.

An avid surfer and past president of Noosa Boardriders.

Some of the multimillion-dollar sales he has negotiated or is negotiating include the Weir Surf Shop at Maroochydore, Channel 7's Sunshine Coast headquarters, the Military Jetty Caravan Park and the old Maroochydore Swan Bowls Club in recent years.

17: Dan Sowden

Another long-time local agent born on the Sunshine Coast who set up Ray White Maroochydore in 1999.

The well-connected auctioneer has roots to Maroochydore Swans Rugby Union, in local surf clubs and is known for charitable contributions.

Jason Mills sits under Mr Sowden as sales manager and is the one on the ground selling property and helping mentor agents coming through.

Ray White Maroochydore sold more than 230 properties in the past year worth more than $150 million.

16: Grant Smith

Buderim agent Grant Smith churned through sales last year with 53 sales as lead agent.

The principal of Century 21 Grant Smith Property is described by industry rivals as a go getter rarely in the office.

The has been rated in the top 1 per cent of elite performers for Century 21 internationally.

He's a dedicated supporter of Sunny Kids, Bloomhill Cancer, Hear and Say Centre and many other charities.

15 and 14: Scott Gardiner and Jason O'Meara

The directors of Savills Sunshine Coast, Mr Gardiner and Mr O'Meara had a busy year in 2020.

The agency churned through a total of 172 transactions with more than $61 million in settled sales and leased more than $3.6 million in annual rent.

Mr Gardiner, a 20-year company veteran, said it was the business's biggest year to date.

Savills Sunshine Coast were also behind the $13.1 million sale in 2019 of a 7990sq m freestanding facility within the booming Sunshine Coast industrial Park at Bells Creek.

13 and 12: Damien Michael and Chris Pace

Significant players in the central suburbs on the Sunshine Coast, now armed with the merger of Stewart Property who was a major rival.

The pair are co-principals of McGrath Mooloolaba and Buderim which generated more than $240 million in sales in the past 12 months.

Mr Michael has twice held Buderim's suburb record sale price while Mr Pace was once a sports reporter for Channel 7.

11: Andrew Garland

A Caloundra powerhouse who took over from Martin Butler and took the Ray White agency to another level.

Mr Garland was the lead agent in the sale of 47 properties throughout the past 12 months at a median sale price of $1.27m.

Also an auctioneer, Mr Garland is recognised as one of the company's best and is ranked in the top one per cent nationally.

His agency has had more than 210 sales in the past 12 months for more than $170 million.

10: Adrian Reed

Not many can say they're one phone call away from a former Australian test cricket skipper in Michael Clarke and celebrity accountant Anthony Bell, who is his business partner.

Reed n Co has come along leaps and bounds since Mr Reed started up his own boutique agency after leaving Dowling Neylan.

It has emerged as a number one contender to match Tom Offermann Real Estate.

In the past 12 months, Mr Reed was the lead agent in the sale of 26 Noosa properties at a median sale price of $2.7m. He had an average days advertised record of 60.

9: Vicki Stewart

One of one the longest serving and highest achievers in Sunshine Coast real estate who forged an empire of her own making.

Known as one of the nicest people in the business, Ms Stewart was recently bought out by McGrath Real Estate in a merger.

Ms Stewart is a past winner of the Real Estate Institute of Queensland's agent of the year award, a community-minded person and dedicated supporter of local charities.

8: Craig Morrison

A young, hotshot agent with strong connections to developers and the community.

The Town Group director has marketed property for the multiple Cube Developments projects including Beach Life Alex and Picasso, and land sales at Forest Glen's Azure and at Palmwoods.

Mr Morrison sold 137 properties throughout the past 12 months at a median sale price of $325,000 with an average days advertised rate of 46.

7: Ken Guy

The business partner of Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson and owner of Ken Guy Buderim.

Mr Guy and Mr Jamieson teamed up in 2010 to create a franchising arm for Ken Guy Real Estate, in a bid to expand the respected agency.

He is also a partner in MKRD Projects Pty Ltd where he directs the company alongside Mr Jamieson.

The company co-owns the Duporth Tavern at Maroochydore.

It's understood Mr Guy has taken a bit of a back seat role in his property circles with his principal agent Danny Redman taking the reins.

6: Rem Rafter

The managing director of one of the Coast's most dominant commercial agencies.

Mr Rafter is a well-connected industry veteran with a smorgasbord of high-profile transactions under his belt.

He marketed the sale of the 104-apartment $200 million Sea Caloundra high-rise and brokered a deal worth nearly $15 million for the Greg Norman-designed Pelican Waters Golf Course in 2018.

He helped negotiate the initial beachside land sales to Mosaic Property Group for its First Bay Coolum development for $10 million.

5: Michael Shadforth

The managing director and commercial principal of Ray White Commercial Northern Corridor Group and Caloundra business leader and the next generation of the prominent Shadforth family.

Michael Shadforth is a premier and elite performer for Ray White in a career that's spanned two decades of successful sales and marketing experience.

He has influence in the political spectrum through his work for the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce and Create Caloundra.

4: Tom Offermann

Arguably the best performing boutique agency in the state and the runaway leader for luxury property sales in Noosa.

While he keeps his cards close to his chest on who purchased what, the Offermann agency sold almost $500 million in the past 12 months looking after the transactions many of the shire's rich and famous.

Offermann has been a community figurehead too with his agency the longtime major sponsor of Noosa Heads Surf Lifesaving Club and the Noosa Coastguard.

3: Amber Werchon

A household name of Sunshine Coast property and a "no-brainer" selection in the minds of almost every agent involved.

Since opening Amber Werchon Property in 2008, the agency has achieved more than 3800 sales valued at more than $2 billion.

Her agency is involved in many large-scale projects including land releases at Marcoola, Burnside, Palmwoods, Nambour and Sippy Downs.

She was the chair of the Real Estate Institute of Queensland Sunshine Coast zone for four years.

Her company has had more than 400 sales over the past 12 months which generated more than $245 million in sales.

2: Brett Graham

The director of Ray White Buderim who now has a network of eight offices and more than 150 staff at his disposal.

Mr Graham is one of the most well-connected men in the industry and briefly launched a campaign to be the region's mayor in 2011 which eventually went to incumbent Mark Jamieson.

He is a former president of the Sunshine Coast zone of the Real Estate Institute of Queensland and has been recognised as an elite business leader for Ray White.

Ray White Buderim sold more than 240 properties in the past year which generated more than $171 million.

1: Roy Henzell

Arguably the most recognisable name in Sunshine Coast property and one of the biggest players in shaping the southern part of the region.

Few families have had more influence on shaping the Sunshine Coast over the past half century than the Henzells, led by Roy.

The Henzells Agency is the brains behind the Pelican Waters development that has been creating communities and facilities around Caloundra for decades.

Roads and sporting fields are named in his honour.

Henzells Agency has more than 40 staff.
