One of Maleny's main streets could soon be bustling with the addition of a proposed housing estate after a bid was launched to turn a storage facility into 65 allotments.
Three parcels of land at 57 Bunya Street and Cudgerie Street could soon be filled with houses as well as two parks.
Site co-owner Remi Rafter has applied through his company RM Developments to Sunshine Coast Council to subdivide the land.

Site co-owner Ben Crosby has also given his written consent for the project to go ahead.
The proposal seeks to turn the three lots totalling 9.2ha into 65 low density residential lots ranging from 800sq m to 1728sq m in size.
According to the application, the varied size lots will ensure a diversity of future housing sizes and styles within the subdivision.
The site, just 300m from Maleny Primary and State High School, is currently used as a container hire and storage facility.
It's understood the plans have been in the works for some time with a pre-lodgement meeting held with the council on June 23 last year.
In response to the council's comments made at the time, RM Developments has amended its proposal plan to reflect compliant minimum lot sizes of 800sq m.
The development would be constructed in five stages, with stage one containing 17 lots, drainage lots and two parks.
A new 1.2km internal road has also been proposed.
Obi Obi Creek adjoins a portion of the site's northern boundary while to the south there is vacant urban land.
The site's western boundary adjoins sports and recreation zoned land, accommodating the Maleny Horse and Pony Club and Maleny Rangers Football Club.
The application has been deemed code-assessable with no public notification or consultation required.
RM Developments was contacted for comment.
