A man has been rushed to a Sunshine Coast hospital after suffering life-threatening injuries during a bike ride.

An elderly man is fighting for life after suffering a medical episode while riding a bike in Maroochydore.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the man in his 70s was riding a bike on Maroochydore Rd just before midday when he suffered a medical episode.
She said the man subsequently fell from the bike and was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Mount Coolum motorcycle crash
A man riding a motorcycle on a busy Sunshine Coast motorway has been rushed to hospital with a facial injury following a horror crash.
Paramedics were called to the scene of a motorcycle and car crash on the Sunshine Mwy at Mount Coolum just after 8am, Monday, September 30.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a man in his 30s, the motorcyclist, was rushed to hospital with facial injuries.
She said he was in a stable condition.
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman confirmed the crash and said they also had a crew on scene earlier.
