A young unemployed mum is languishing behind bars after being refused bail in a major alleged meth bust at an Airbnb party gone wrong.

Jacinta Naomi Parmenter woke up with more than a hangover when police entered a Maroochydore property which she had used for short-term accommodation with two mates on July 20.

Police allege the 27-year-old was found with a whopping 16.45g of meth inside her bra when she was spoken to by officers at the property.

Maroochydore Magistrates Court was told the Redcliffe woman rented the home with two of her mates for three days in a mini holiday from the pressures of being a single mum when police came knocking.

How officers ended up inside the Airbnb was a source of discussion during Parmenter’s bail application on Tuesday where she faces charges of possessing dangerous drugs over the scheduled amount, unlawfully possessing a relevant substance and possessing property reasonably suspected of being used in the commission of an offence.

Magistrate Raelene Ellis said when police were inside the flat they saw syringes on Parmenter’s bed and decided to wake her up.

It was here police allegedly made the bust inside Parmenter’s lingerie.

Police prosecutor Michael Quirk objected to her release from custody as she had minor drug charges already before the Redcliffe Magistrates Court.

Mr Quirk claimed Parmenter was unemployed and living out of her car, and could not abide by bail conditions and was continuing to offend.

He said there was body worn camera footage of the search which allegedly showed police finding the substances.

Duty lawyer Sarah Knight said the 27-year-old was the full time carer of her child with the daughter’s father being in custody.

She told the court the 27-year-old hired the flat with her mates and speculated the police were called due to the neighbour assuming there was “some sort of break and enter going on”.

The solicitor said there may be issues with the lawfulness of the police search and put forward a series of strict bail conditions.

Ms Knight said Parmenter was motivated to go to rehab if released on bail because if this was refused, it would be the Redcliffe woman’s first time behind bars.

She believed Parmenter may spend too much time in custody as the charges needed to be dealt with in the Supreme Court due to the amount of meth allegedly found.

Ms Ellis questioned if Parmenter would in fact receive a jail sentence for the alleged large possession of ice, with Ms Knight saying it depended on the purity which would need to be tested.

Despite these arguments, Ms Ellis believed she could not reduce the risk of Parmenter allegedly committing more crimes and even said it appeared they were escalating.

Her bail was refused. Parmenter’s matter will return to court on September 8.
