A Wurtulla woman who had a 44-page rap sheet was on parole when she used Facebook marketplace to defraud several Sunshine Coast residents.
Sacha Margaret Isha Cleyman, 42, pleaded guilty to two counts of fraud in the Caloundra Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Sunshine Coast police prosecutions officer-in-charge David Bradley said Cleyman had defrauded at least two men with the sale of an item on Facebook marketplace.
Senior Sergeant Bradley said the item she falsely sold was a sander or polisher.
He said Cleyman placed an advertisement under a fake name and sold it in separate deals to the men.
Sergeant Bradley said the first transaction happened on July 16, the second on August 20 this year.
“The two complainants purchased it but ultimately it never arrived,” Sergeant Bradley said.
“Police discovered the identity of the person and discovered the item had already been sold.
“She sold it for $80 and $85 respectfully.”
Sergeant Bradley said Cleyman’s 44-page criminal history “looked a lot worse that it is” and acknowledged her remorse.
He said Cleyman had paid back the victims.
The court heard Cleyman was unemployed and a mother-of-two.
Acting magistrate Raelene Ellis said Cleyman was not a youthful offender but took into account Cleyman’s remorse.
Cleyman was fined $750 and a conviction was recorded.
