A court has heard how a Brisbane real estate worker was found to be drink driving after her boyfriend began yelling out their car window while on the Sunshine Coast.

Maroochydore Magistrates Court heard on Monday how Isabelle Beaudet-Gaul was in the driver’s seat of her car when a number of witnesses saw her drink driving along Main St at Montville on August 24.

Police prosecutor Mel Pyke said the 22-year-old and her boyfriend, who was in the passenger seat at the time, had roused suspicion of the public due to him yelling out of the passenger side window of her white Ford Ranger.

The police prosecutor said a ladder from the Bulimba woman’s Ford Ranger was also seen dragging along the road from the rear of the car.

She was breath tested and later returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.116 per cent and was on a provisional licence at the time.

The court heard Beaudet-Gaul, who has ties to Yass, had a NSW traffic entry in 2022. Beaudet-Gaul’s boyfriend was not charged.

In court on Monday, she pleaded guilty to one charge of mid range drink driving and represented herself.

The Brisbane real estate worker said she felt shame and the disappointment she felt was beyond anything she had ever felt before and told the court she was incredibly sorry for her mistake.

“Who was in the passenger seat,” magistrate Haydn Stjernqvist asked, to which she replied her partner.

“You ditched him?,” Mr Stjernqvist queried, to which she replied no.

“He’s the one hanging out the window, screaming and yelling isn’t he?”

“What’s he doing that for, attracting attention to yourself.

“I’d get a second opinion if I were you.”

Beaudet-Gaul was fined $600 and disqualified from driving for three months. A traffic conviction was recorded.
