A Nirimba social media influencer has been charged after she allegedly caused a boozy crash into a pole without a driver’s licence.

Ella Nelice Cowton, 24, who boasts thousands of followers on Instagram and TikTok, faced Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday charged with driving under the influence of liquor, driving without due care and attention and driving without a licence.

Police allege in court documents the charges relate to an allegedly drunken incident in Maroochydore on July 27.

Police prosecutor Michael Quirk told the court the 24-year-old allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.175 per cent.

Cowton represented herself and asked for an adjournment so she could seek legal advice from her lawyer Belinda Robinson.

Magistrate Haydn Stjernqvist told Cowton she would be unable to get a work licence due to the charges.

“Did you have a little bingle,” Mr Stjernqvist asked.

“With a tree, sign, or rear end?”

“With a pole,” Cowton said.

“Got to be wary of those poles,” Mr Stjernqvist replied.

Mr Stjernqvist adjourned Cowton’s matter to August 26.

In Cowton’s social media profiles, she can be seen working at an Ocean St nightclub.
