D’Aguilar Highway crash: Woman trapped, motorists to expect delays

Police are warning motorists to expect delays on a major highway as emergency services rushed to free a woman trapped in a car.

A woman who was trapped in a car following a two-vehicle crash on a major highway near the Sunshine Coast has been transported to hospital in a serious condition.

Police are advising motorists should expect major delays following a two-vehicle crash on the D’Aguilar Hwy near Raaen Rd at D’Aguilar.

Emergency services were called to the incident about 6.30am, on July 12, with one woman in her 20s trapped in a vehicle.

Firefighters used hydraulic equipment to free her.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the woman was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition by critical care paramedics.

A second patient was also in a stable condition at the scene and was later transported to the Caboolture Hospital.

Police warned motorists to avoid the area or expect lengthy delays, with traffic diversions in place near Mount Mee Rd and Campbells Pocket Rd.
