The lawyer representing a Maroochydore security guard accused of terrorising multiple women on the Sunshine Coast will need “weeks to get through” the evidence against the man, a court has heard.
Callum Luke Westcott Fisher, 23, is facing 82 charges including stalking, deprivation of liberty, torture and computer hacking in relation to 12 women.
Police allege Fisher, who has no criminal history, used his position as a security guard at night in Noosa, Maroochydore and other places on the coast to target women.
Mr Fisher remains in custody after a failed bail attempt in the Supreme Court in August 2022.
His barrister, David Funch, appeared before Maroochydore Magistrates Court on September 30, 2022, to ask for a further adjournment after receiving the brief of evidence from the police prosecutor.
“It’s a particularly large brief, so it’ll take us a few weeks to get through the material,” Mr Funch said.
The matter was adjourned to December 2, 2022.
Mr Fisher was arrested in March, 2022 after police carried out their investigation into his alleged conduct against several women dating as far back as 2018.
Police allege Mr Fisher, who was employed as a security guard at Maroochydore’s Ocean St precinct, Noosa Safe Night precinct and a Birtinya shopping centre, was misusing his position to target women.
The Supreme Court heard in September investigations were continuing into whether Mr Fisher also allegedly targeted other women.
