Two women are being assessed by paramedics after a crash at a notorious Sunshine Coast hinterland intersection.
Firefighters, police and paramedics were called to the intersection at Steve Irwin Way and Beerburrum Rd, Beerburrum around 8.20am on Tuesday.
Drivers were told to expect delays as police directed traffic at the scene. It has now been cleared.
A Queensland Ambulance service spokeswoman said two women were taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in stable conditions. She could not confirm their injuries, nor their ages.
The intersection is regarded as one of the most dangerous on the Sunshine Coast, with six serious crashes and 11 deaths between 2018 and 2022.
