The witness said the altercation was one of two fights that had broken out that night.

Noosa Police station officer-in-charge Troy Cavell said while the brawl was “full on” no one was hurt.

Senior Sergeant Cavell said four young men and two young women, all from the Gold Coast, were arrested and each fined $413 for public nuisance.

He said brawls were not a regular occurance for Noosa police to deal with.

Sergeant Cavell said it had been a busy weekend for the night-life hotspot.

“There were a few weddings and functions on. There was a hen’s night of about 50 women on the Saturday too,” he said.

“A lot of people were here.”

Sergeant Cavell said three men on a buck’s party were also arrested and fined on public nuisance offences on Friday night.

He said they were a separate group to the Saturday arrests.

It comes after a young Cooroy man sustained serious head injuries after he was allegedly “glassed and thrown on his head” at Little Sister Cafe and Bar on Sunday, September 5.

A 24-year-old Noosa Heads man was last week arrested and charged with assault occasioning bodily harm in relation to the incident.
