An infant and toddler have been rushed to hospital after sustaining head injuries in a car crash on the Sunshine Coast.

Paramedics were called to the scene of the crash at Caloundra this morning where they treated four patients.

A QAS spokesman said three stable patients were transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital following the two-vehicle crash on Gregson Place at 10.40am.

He said it was a mother, an infant, and a toddler – who all suffered minor head injuries.

The fourth female on the scene was treated and declined transportation.

Earlier today, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and Queensland Police also responded to reports of a vehicle fire at Meridan Plains.

A QFES spokesman said the car was on fire at 9.30am, but there was no one in the car at the time.
