A Little Mountain business attendant is in hospital after an armed robbery at a Night Owl convenience store on Friday night.

A police spokesperson said a man entered the Parklands Boulevard business about 10.45pm.

“The man was armed with a metal pole and made demands for money and cigarettes from the male attendant who complied,” the police report stated.

The man struck the attendant about the head with the pole and fled the store on foot with cigarettes and over $1000 in cash, fellow attendant Gagamdeep Kaur, who was not present during the incident, said.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said the victim, a 19 year old man, sustained minor injuries to the head and was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Ms Kaur who finished her shift at 3pm on Friday said “the robbers hit a rod on his head so that he is now in hospital”.
