Man suffers life threatening head injuries in Warana crash

A man has been rushed to hospital after receiving life threatening head injuries in a car crash on the Sunshine Coast.

A man in his 40s suffered a significant potentially life-threatening head injury following a crash on Nicklin Way and Main Drive, Warana.

A man has been rushed to hospital after receiving life threatening head injuries in a car crash on Tuesday night.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a vehicle collided with a male pedestrian at 10.09pm.

The man in his 40s suffered a significant potentially life-threatening head injury following the drama on Nicklin Way and Main Drive, Warana.

The patient was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said one crew attended the scene.

There were no entrapments but the crew was requested to remain on site until the Forensic Crash Unit arrived.

Police closed the northbound lane until the scene was cleared after 11pm.
