From Noosa to Caloundra, developers on the Sunshine Coast are experiencing a run on vacant land sales and inquiries.

It follows several years of depressed land sales as well as a shortage of stock in the region.

A common influence has been the provision of surrounding infrastructure such as schools, shops, services and sporting grounds.

That has been the case in the Parklakes neighbourhood at Bli Bli with sustained record-breaking sales of vac

ant lots in the lead-up to the opening of the $2.7 million sports complex.

Parklakes spokesman Rob Midgley said the family-friendly community had recorded $7 million in sales since November, which included 23 lots in the latest stage.

The Parklakes sports complex, which has three competition soccer fields, a clubhouse with meeting rooms, a canteen and change rooms, is being handed over to the Bli Bli United Football Club.

At Maroochydore, Sunshine Cove marketing manager Penny Service said the 82-lot Savannah precinct, released this week, had 59 lots under contract or sold.

It has been a similar story at Caloundra where Pelican Waters general manager of development Hamish Pressland said 30% of the 62-lot development The Passage that was released last Saturday had sold in three days.

Peregian Springs senior sales consultant Matthew Wotton has reported 31 sales in 31 days over summer and is taking expressions of interest for stages expected to be released as far ahead as September.

That is in The Ridges. There is nothing left of the developer's stock in Peregian Springs.

Stockland regional manager for the Sunshine Coast, Ben Simpson, said the volume of new land sales on the Sunshine Coast had been rising in recent months. "The outlook is continuing to improve and we have already seen good levels of interest from buyers since the start of the year, particularly from people looking to upgrade to a new home," he said.

At the lakeside Doonella Noosa development the lower priced category of lots priced at $180,000 have sold out, making the starting price now $225,000 for the next grade of land available.
