Sunshine Coast breaking news: Child flown to hospital after dog attack at Kenilworth

A toddler has suffered serious facial injuries and been flown to hospital after reportedly being mauled by a dog at a popular Sunshine Coast hinterland campground.

A toddler has been flown to hospital after reportedly being mauled by a dog in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

Paramedics rushed to Kenilworth Homestead campgrounds in Eumundi Kenilworth Rd at Kenilworth before 3pm on Sunday following reports of a dog attack.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said a boy toddler was flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with significant facial injuries.

The spokeswoman said crews were also tasked to the Mooloolah train station at 3.07pm on Sunday after a train had lost power.

She said the train was towed back to the Mooloolah Valley where 67 patients declined assessment, however paramedics were assessing one patient for heat stroke due to a lack of air-conditioning.

Queensland Rail stated on social media there was an issue with the overhead powerline at Landsborough, which suspended services between Caboolture and Nambour stations.

They expected delays of up to an hour on the Sunshine Coast line with crews on scene. Rail replacement buses were also being organised for passengers travelling between those stations.

Sunday – Man pulled from water after fall at Noosa beach

A man has been rushed to hospital after he was pulled from the water at Noosa.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said lifesavers called paramedics after the man in his 30s slipped from rocks at Sunshine Beach at 10.49am on Sunday.

The spokeswoman said the man was suffering from quite significant breathing problems, and it was unclear how long he was in the water for.

She said he was in a stable condition by the time he was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Sunday – Girl rushed to hospital after dramatic hinterland near drowning

A girl has been rushed to hospital following a near drowning in the Sunshine Coast hinterland overnight.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the incident happened about 6.10pm on October 5 at Hidden Pocket, in Moy Pocket, west of Eumundi.

The spokeswoman said one “school-aged” girl was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
