Sunshine Coast surfers have made the most of ‘insane’ swell at a lake, caused by record rainfall.

“Insane” and “sick” footage has emerged online of Sunshine Coast surfers making the most of a rare opportunity of lake run-out to the beach after a week of record rainfall.
Footage of the post rain surf at Currimundi Lake on the Sunshine Coast has gone viral online.
The video, which was posted to Facebook page Sunshine Coast Surf Check by Stuart Cordingley has more than 1500 likes.
It shows surfers, swimmers, and boogie boarders making the most of the lake run-out at Currimundi.
This followed a week of record-breaking rainfall across Queensland which saw devastating flooding out west.
Sunshine Coast locals were quick to swarm to the comments to share their thoughts.
“Thata insane,” Lauren Robins said.
“How good is that,” Dave Spiler said.
“Not for the faint hearted lol,” Amy Bennett said.
“Hope your (sic) all not sick from that water, it’s super polluted,” Paul Bevear said.
“So impressive,” Tiffany Gray Slade said.
“So sick,” Karl Harbers said.
“Haven’t seen this since I was a kid, always super fun when it happens,” Kara Humby said.
Surf Life Saving Queensland has been contacted for comment.
Now on the Sunshine Coast some roads remain closed as residents prepare for more rain across the region in coming days.
The driver of a small sedan also experienced some grief Tuesday morning when they tried to cross a flooded road in Bli Bli.
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said two crews were called to the scene at 6.50am this morning.
The spokeswoman said the occupant was out of the small white sedan and safe with no swift water rescue required.
They reminded drivers not to enter floodwater, even if it looked shallow.
The Bureau Of Meteorology has forecast low to moderate rainfall over the next few days, with hazardous surf conditions for today and Wednesday.
Some low-lying roads are once again experiencing minor flooding.

The Sunshine Coast was hit with about 140mm of rain in 24 hours over the weekend, leaving catchments overflowing.
Senior Meteorologist Angus Hines said Ex-Tropical Cyclone Dianne was expected to bring heavy rainfall across the state, with parts of South East Queensland likely to receive over 50mm of rainfall.
