Flo’s Creperie opens new restaurant in Mooloolaba Wharf

A popular Noosa restaurant owned and run by a Sunshine Coast couple has expanded with their food empire locking down a second location, but that’s not all they’re celebrating.

A popular French eatery led by a passionate Sunshine Coast couple has expanded into a second location as it celebrates its first anniversary.

Flo’s Creperie, owned and run by Michelle and her French husband Florian “Flo” Guillemard, opened their first restaurant on Sunshine Beach Rd in Noosa Heads in September 2021.

Now, almost a year to the day later, they have expanded to an up and coming food precinct in the heart of the Sunshine Coast.

Mrs Guillemard said the couple’s new location, near Sea Life on the Mooloolaba Wharf, had been a roaring success after they opened their doors on September 12, 2022.

“We’ve had quite a few people who know of us from Noosa coming by … and lots of tourists, lots of people from Melbourne holidaying coming by, and people on holidays coming by more than once,” she said.

“People are starting to know that we’re there … we didn’t do a big launch or anything but it’s just word of mouth at this stage.”

The restaurant is popular among Sunshine Coast locals and tourists for its alternative approach to crepes, with sweet and savoury options for every meal, as well as vegan, gluten free and vegetarian options.

“It’s really exciting seeing the reception to the food … because it is really new to a lot of people, especially crepes as a dinner option.”

The Mooloolaba Wharf was a location Mr and Mrs Guillemard always thought would be “perfect”, she said, and the couple were “really stoked” to have expanded their business to the popular spot.

But despite the new location, Mrs Guillemard promised it was the same Flo’s everyone knows and loves.

“We probably will do a few little variations and specials … but for now it’s really just getting the people in Mooloolaba … acquainted with crepes and helping them hopefully fall in love with crepes the way the people in Noosa have,” she said.

As for future expansions, Mrs Guillemard said “anything (was) possible”, but right now the couple were focusing on their new Mooloolaba restaurant.

“We’re just really happy to be there, and we’re really happy that people like our food and the whole experience because we love it.”

Flo’s is open from 7am until late, Monday to Friday, across both locations.
