Emergency crews respond to shop fire on Bulcock St, Caloundra

Emergency crews were called to the heart of a Sunshine Coast CBD after reports of flames in a retail shop.

At least three people have been evacuated after a blaze in a business in Caloundra’s CBD.

Emergency services were called to the retail shop on Bulcock St about 5.05pm on Tuesday, March 18, to reports of fire and smoke.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said three crews attended alongside police and paramedics and had the fire under control by 5.25pm.

“Crews have removed some burned product from the shop, and a primary search is complete,” the spokesman said.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said three people were assessed on scene, but no injuries were reported.

Queensland Police told this publication it was too early to determine whether the fire was suspicious or not.
