Elderly driver taken to hospital following vehicle crash down embankment

A man has been taken to hospital after his vehicle crashed down an embankment on the Sunshine Coast.

An elderly driver has been taken to hospital after his vehicle went down an embankment in Peregian Springs on the Sunshine Coast.

The single vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Emu Park Arterial Rd and the Sunshine Motorway at 4.20am, a Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said.

Two fire crews attended the crash.

The driver, a man in his 80s, was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with possible head injuries, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said.

Police also attended the crash.
