An elderly woman has been rushed to hospital with a head and arm injury after falling while trying to escape a raging unit fire on the Sunshine Coast – as others were injured in unrelated crashes and fires overnight.

Emergency services responded to a unit fire on Parklands Boulevard, at Little Mountain, at 7pm Tuesday night.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said they had five crews on scene for the fire on the second storey of a three storey building.

“The fire was out by 7.30pm,” he said.

Paramedics were also on scene. Multiple people were evacuated on scene, with two women rushed to hospital.

A woman in her 70s was rushed to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition after suffering an arm and head injury from falling during the evacuation.

Another woman in her 20s was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for smoke inhalation, also in a stable condition. Paramedics were cleared from scene at 10.21pm.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said officers declared a crime scene last night and investigations were ongoing.

Emergency services also responded to a two car crash on the Bruce Highway at Coochin Creek Wednesday morning.

Paramedics rushed a woman in a stable condition to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital with shoulder injuries after being entrapped in her vehicle following the 4.56am crash.

A QFD spokesman said two crews were on scene after the two cars collided and rolled.

He said their crews worked to free the trapped woman.

The Queensland Fire Department also sent to two crews to the scene of a car fire at Kawana on Tuesday evening.

A QFD spokesman said the car was well involved on Larcombe Street at 8pm.

No one was in the car or injured.
