A woman continues to fight for life days after a crash between a car and truck in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
Emergency crews rushed to the intersection of Eumundi-Kenilworth and West Eumundi roads in Eerwah Vale to reports a car and a truck had crashed on Wednesday, May 21.
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said the driver of the car was trapped in her vehicle after the crash.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics were assessing a woman in a “life-threatening condition” with head and abdominal injuries.
She was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
This morning, May 23, a hospital spokeswoman said the woman was critical but stable.
On the day of the crash, police said traffic diversions were in place around the scene via Eumundi-Noosa Rd and Bunya Rd.
It’s the second serious crash on the Sunshine Coast in less than 12 hours, after a 21-year-old man died in a motorbike crash in Witta about 11.30am Wednesday.
