A popular hinterland cafe will attempt to restructure in order to overcome a six-figure tax debt, documents from the corporate regulator have revealed.
The company, Soiree Group Pty Ltd, which operates the Maleny cafe, Frank Food and Wine, appointed restructuring practitioner, Rajiv Ghedia, on May 5, 2025.
The cafe at 48 Maple St continues to trade as per normal and it is expected to remain open once the restructuring is complete, according to documents published to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission by Mr Ghedia.
According to the venue’s social media page, the cafe offers a seasonal brunch and dinner menu.
According to the ASIC documents the cafe owes the Deputy Commissioner of Taxation about $422,898.
ASIC documents also show the company is operated by two directors, Kelly Jane Robson and Adrian Peter Annan-Anderson, who began trading in August 2022.
The restructuring plans were submitted to creditors by Mr Ghedia on Friday, June 13.
According to the plans, the company will pay 24 monthly contributions of $6000 from the commencement of the plan.
The director, Ms Robson and Frank Food and Wine have both been contacted by this publication for comment.
