A coffee pop up owner has revealed he will be opening a luxurious wine bar and cafe in the popular seaside spot – which is located near an up-market Italian restaurant and towering ocean view apartment buildings.

Kevin and Noreen Porr have had a cafe and wine bar planned for the main strip of the upcoming waterfront suburb Bokarina for more than two years.

Tucked away between the bustling of Caloundra and Kawana, Bokarina’s seaside esplanade is home to Bocca, a delightful Italian restaurant from the mind behind Rice Boi, an up-market liquor store and an ice creamery boasting the best biscoff gelato on the Sunshine Coast.

Directly across from the dog beach and with multiple luxury apartment buildings on the street, it’s the perfect spot for a morning coffee.

Mr Porr, who lives locally himself, said it was an opportunity he couldn’t let pass him by.

“Everyone has been asking when we’re opening,” he said.

“There’s nowhere there for a coffee or even just to pop down and grab some milk.”

His cafe Coffee & Crunch and adjoining Blair’s Wine Bar are both set to open in early December.

But for now, locals have been treated to a pop up coffee shop out front.

“The fit out won’t be finished until the end of October and then there’s still more work to do,” Mr Porr said.

The pop up coffee shop launched on Sunday, September 1.

Since then it’s been offering loyal customers coffee brewed from beans from another Sunshine Coast cafe – Gun Cotton Coffee at Yandina.

The pop up is open 6am to 10am, Monday to Friday, and 8am to 4pm on the weekends.

“It’s been going really well and we’ve been beautifully supported but the community,” Mr Porr said.

“It’s absolutely fantastic and makes me even more excited for what’s to come.

“Coffee & Crunch will offer coffee and cabinet food in the mornings. Then Blair’s (next door) will be a cafe for breakfast and lunch during the day. Then it will be a small wine bar in the afternoon and at night.”

The trendy venue will also offer catering services for up to 30 guests.

“You will be able to hire it for fully catered high teas and events such as a corporate Melbourne Cup,” Mr Porr said.

“It’s all going to be dog friendly as well.

“We have puppuccinos and will offer dog treats from a business in NSW that has a natural and sustainable focus and employs people living with a disability.”
