Tributes are flowing for a “joyful” Sunshine Coast father of two and business owner after his sudden death left loved ones heartbroken.
Bart Wenban, 45, of Cooroy, died suddenly on August 28, 2024.
He leaves behind his beautiful wife Melissa Wenban and their two young children Maddie and Jacob.
Mr Wenban was well known locally for running a carpet cleaning and pest business at Cooroy. His death was a shock to many devastated locals.
His funeral was held on Monday, September 2.
Tributes have been flowing – with friends and family remembering Mr Wenban fondly.
“I’m still in shock that you aren’t going to be around, fly high Bart,” Terissa Kelk said.
“Bart was genuinely the kindest man,” Olivia Dolan said.
“His infectious laugh. His warm “hey matey” greeting. And, his “hoo-roo!” farewell – they always brought a smile.
“Bart’s joyful spirit will be greatly missed. My heartfelt condolences.”
“Bart may you rest in peace,” Kay MacKellar said.
“Your joyful laugh, smiling face and generous heart are sorely missed but I will always remember fondly as the beautiful man you were and always will be.
“My thoughts are with your family and friends at this very sad time.”
“One of a kind. Would do anything for anyone,” Carmen Plumb said.
“Bart will be greatly missed. Sending condolences and hugs once again to Melissa, kids and family.”
Simon Barnett said he was “such a lovely guy”.
“RIP Bart,” Tony Bernhagen said.
“One of the nicest guys you will ever meet. Always helpful no matter how busy he was.
“Condolences to all of his family. He will be missed.”
A close friend of the family, Josh Fuller, has started a GoFundMe campaign to help out Mr Wenban’s family.
