A Sippy Downs teenager will have to complete community service after she attacked a police officer while being arrested for being drunk in a park at Nambour.

Alexandra Taite Seignior-Fuller, 19, was fighting with two men on November 29 when police noticed the commotion and came to assist.

One of the men ran away but Seignior-Fuller continued to argue in front of police with a man, saying that he had stolen her phone.

Police prosecutor Mick Ruddiman said the man was adamant he didn’t have the phone and Seignior-Fuller was arrested for her clear intoxication in a public place.

As she was being ushered to the police vehicle, Seignior-Fuller started screaming, crying and dropping her body weight to the ground.

Police gave her numerous instructions to walk to the vehicle but Seignior-Fuller told them she wasn’t going anywhere.

Sergeant Ruddiman said officers had to drag her across the ground and she latched her leg onto a metal gate.

Police then applied handcuffs to Seignior-Fuller as she called police a “c--t”.

During the scuffle police saw that she had a mobile phone tucked into her leggings.

Seignior-Fuller continued to scream shouting “leave me the f--k alone” until they reached the secure holding cell and police told her to step inside.

She put her feet out and pushed back against police before attempting to kick one officer in the head.

Seignior-Fuller then kicked a different officer in the abdomen and chest several times and police had to use force to close her inside the vehicle.

During transit she began smashing her keys into a perspex screen and then kicked a rear door until it dislodged.

Sergeant Ruddiman said police had to conduct an emergency stop and wait until another police vehicle came.

“As a result of the violent assault and the obstructing behaviour both officers received injuries,” he said.

Duty lawyer David Crews said his client had no criminal history and was living at Uni Central in Sippy Downs.

Mr Crews said Seignior-Fuller had been doing a Tertiary Prep Program and wanted to go back to study graphic design or nursing.

He said she had no recollection of the offending.

Seignior-Fuller pleaded guilty to assaulting police, being drunk in a public place, obstructing police and wilful damage of police property in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on December 16, 2022.

Magistrate Haydn Stjernqvist said it was a “wild night” and “outrageous behaviour” by the 19-year-old.

He fined her $600 and ordered her to complete 80 hours of community service across 12 months.

No convictions were recorded.
