“Taco Bell or Guzman Y Gomez would’ve been better,” she said.

Nanango resident Amanda Johnson said she would prefer healthier fast food options.

Another resident posted to social media, saying: “South Burnett needs Thai food, salad bars, juice bars and Grill’d”.

“You definitely get sick of the same foods,” she said.

Huskey’s Ice Creamery owner Daniel Huskisson said the new outlet showed the town was growing and did not believe it would impact on local cafes and restaurants business.

“Hungry Jacks will mainly impact McDonalds and KFC - if it was a Coffee Club then perhaps it would impact us,” Mr Huskisson said.

Hungry Jack’s chief marketing officer Scott Baird said the company is thrilled to open in the Burnett.

“The new Kingaroy store is an exciting addition to the area and a demonstration of the future of Hungry Jack’s stores,” Mr Baird said.

Mr Baird said he wanted to ensure locals had access to all the classic burgers, including the famous flame grilled Whopper, along with new menu items and barista made coffee.”
