Rockhampton police arrest teens, adults in crime blitz

Multiple Rockhampton police units joined forces to apprehend 10 people in relation to a number of alleged offences across the region.

Police from tactical and property crime units worked together to apprehend 10 offenders allegedly responsible for a range of property offences committed over the past few weeks.

An 18-year-old Park Avenue man was charged with 20 offences allegedly committed across Rockhampton, Yeppoon and Emu Park areas, including six counts of stealing, five counts each of unlawful use of motor vehicles, burglary and enter premises.

He is scheduled to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court today.

A 19-year-old Depot Hill man was arrested on Sunday, October 2 and is facing 12 property related charges, including two counts each of burglary, stealing, unlawful use of motor vehicle, trespass, and one count each of fraud involving bank cards, and enter dwelling with intent.

He is due to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court today.

A 21-year-old Woorabinda man was arrested by Yeppoon Police on September 29.

He is allegedly responsible for breaking into a number of Gracemere, Parkhurst and Cooee Bay businesses between September 28 and 29.

The man was charged with 14 offences, ranging from nine counts of entering premises, two counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle, two counts of attempted enter premises and one count of unlicensed driving.

A 56-year-old Rockhampton man was charged with one count of enter premises and commit, breach of bail and fail to comply with Child Protection Offender Reporting.

These men were expected to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Another man, a 25-year-old from Kawana, was charged with two counts of possess tainted property, one count each of enter premises and commit indictable offence and possess utensils.

He is expected to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on October 10.

Police also charged a number of juveniles with offences.

A 17-year-old Rockhampton male was charged with seven offences, including three counts of unlawful use of motor vehicles, and two counts each of possess drugs and utensil, and breaching bail.

A 14-year-old Frenchville girl was charged with seven offences, including one count of assault occasioning bodily harm, breaches of bail, enter dwelling and wilful damage.

Both appeared in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

A 17-year-old Frenchville male was arrested on Thursday, September 28.

He was charged with numerous offences for alleged breach of bail conditions, four counts of enter premises and commit, two counts of attempted enter premises, two counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle, one count each of stealing, and receiving tainted property.

He was remanded in custody and is expected to appear in Rockhampton Children’s Court later this month.

A 15-year-old Koongal boy was remanded in custody on September 25 for allegedly committing seven property related offences.

He is scheduled to appear Rockhampton Children’s Court later this month.

A 15-year-old Berserker boy appeared in Rockhampton Children’s Court last month and was dealt with under the Juvenile Justice Act for four counts of wilful damage and one count breach of bail.
