Woman injured after vehicle hits kangaroo, rolls at Emerald

A woman has been taken to hospital after a vehicle rollover on a Queensland highway where she was hurt in a crash involving a kangaroo.

A woman has been injured in a single-vehicle rollover at Emerald on Saturday morning after a crash with a kangaroo.

Paramedics were called to the Capricorn Highway and Denison Road at 5.58am.

Queensland Ambulance Service said the vehicle rolled after hitting a kangaroo.

A QAS spokesman said the woman in her 40s suffered a lower leg injury and she was taken to Emerald Hospital in a stable condition.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said police attended the scene and the vehicle had been towed from it.
