Police have released footage of a man wanted for questioning after a 56-year-old suffered “serious” face injuries and broken ribs during a break-in at his Queensland home.

Police are appealing for information after an alleged assault at Emerald

Police are appealing for information as they search for a man they say may be able to “assist” into an alleged assault investigation.

They allege three people broke into a Bridgeman St property on September 30 last year just after 11pm before assaulting a 56-year-old man who was home at the time.

The trio then allegedly left the property a short time later on foot, going in the direction of Opal St.

The man was taken to hospital after sustaining “significant facial injuries” and broken ribs.

After extensive investigations detectives from Emerald Criminal Investigation Branch arrested and charged two men in relation to the alleged assault.

However, they have been unable to locate the third man.

The man police wish to speak to is described as caucasian in appearance with a proportionate build and grey hair.

He was wearing a black T-shirt and shorts and tank work boots.

Detectives are appealing for the man or anyone with further information to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
