A Queensland Children’s Hospital spokesperson said on Thursday that the teenager, who was injured and airlifted on January 7, was in a stable condition.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the boy’s motorbike crashed near Curtis Avenue and he received a penetrating chest wound from a stick.
Emergency services were called at 4.23pm.
A CapRescue spokesperson said their Rescue300 helicopter was tasked to the incident at 4.50pm.
The helicopter landed on the Boyne Island State School oval where they met with paramedics who had transported the boy to the location.
