Man winched off vessel by RACQ CapRescue near Facing Island

A man has been winched off a bulk carrier ship by the RACQ Capricorn Rescue Service after he sustained an arm injury while on board.

A man has been winched off a bulk carrier ship by the RACQ Capricorn Rescue Service after he sustained an arm injury while on board the ship.

A triple-0 call was received by Queensland Ambulance Service at 2.05am reporting that a man in his 30s had an arm injury after falling.

The vessel was near Facing Island which is 12km from the mainland.

Due to the location, the RACQ Capricorn Rescue was tasked to extricate the man, flying from the Rockhampton base.

It was reported his injuries needed immediate medical attention.

The man was winched off the vessel by the rescue team just after 7am and flown to Gladstone Hospital in a stable condition.

The helicopter departed the Gladstone Hospital just before 8am back to Rockhampton.
