A man has been charged in relation to a break and enter at a property north of Rockhampton, however, the firearms he allegedly stole are still missing.
Initial police investigations indicate the man allegedly entered the property on the Bruce Highway at Milman on November 15 about 1pm and stole three firearms, ammunition and a Yamaha quad bike.
Police claim the man then fled a short time later.
The missing firearms were a BRNO Fox rifle, a Marlin rifle and a Savage rimfire rifle.
A LandCruiser ute was also allegedly stolen from a neighbouring property the following morning.
Detective Acting Inspector Luke Peachey said a 32-year-old Rockhampton resident was taken into custody at Sarina.
“He was taken into custody there after he committed similar offences in the Sarina area,” he said.
Detective Acting Inspector Peachey said the firearms had not been recovered.
“Very scary there might be still those firearms out there,” he said.
“We ask anyone with any information in regards to wherever firearms may be unlawfully to contact police or Crime Stoppers.”
The man was charged with two counts of enter dwelling and commit, one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing drug utensils, obstructing police and three counts of breaching bail.
He was remanded in custody to appear in Mackay Magistrates Court on December 20.
