Jean Maree Peterson in Rockhampton court charged with enter dwelling and commit

A third person is allegedly involved in an incident involving a former One Nation candidate who led an anti-crime rally, it can be revealed.

A third co-accused has been revealed to be linked to the court case of a gym owner and former One Nation candidate charged with enter dwelling and commit.

Jean Maree Peterson, 45, had her matter mentioned in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on July 12.

Ms Peterson was charged with one count of enter dwelling and commit.

The court heard Ms Peterson is the co-accused of Julia Chayse Reed, 23, and Torin O’Brien, 37, who had their matters mentioned in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Wednesday, July 10.

Ms Reed and Mr O’Brien were charged with allegedly coenter dwelling and commit in the North Rockhampton suburb of Kawana on February 10.

On Wednesday, Ms Reed’s solicitor Samantha Legrady told the court she had sent a submission to police prosecutions which was still being considered.

Both matters were adjourned to be mentioned again on July 31.

Both Mr O’Brien and Ms Reed are on bail.

Ms Peterson’s solicitor Jess King said a submission had been sent to prosecutions which was rejected with an alternate proposition put forth, however, advised they had just been made aware that the two co-accused had made submissions for in relation to alternate processes and charges.

“In my opinion the outcome of those submissions is highly relevant to how Ms Peterson’s matter proceeds,” she said.

Ms Reed’s lawyer said on Wednesday she was waiting to hear back from the prosecution in regards to a submission to do with the adult restorative justice program.

Mr O’Brien’s lawyer, David Mills, said they would also await the outcome of the prosecutor’s decision.

Magistrate Grace Kahlert adjourned Ms Peterson’s matter until August 2 and enlarged her bail.

Mr O’Brien became a household name after he led a mob of angry locals to the homes of alleged criminal teens in May, 2023.

A video capturing the former gym owner as the leader speaking with police during a tense stand-off between numerous police and the angry went viral online.

It was sparked by a Facebook post by the 2020 One Nation candidate for the state seat of Rockhampton appealing for information about the identity of the alleged thieves who had broken into his sister’s home.
