Crashes at Lake Mary crash and The Range send two to Rockhampton Hospital

One man has been released from hospital after he was rushed there for treatment because he was injured when his car struck a power pole. READ THE LATEST.

A man who was flown to Rockhampton Hospital after crashing into a power pole at Lake Mary at the weekend has been released.

Police and paramedics were called to Lake Mary Rd at 6.15pm, September 7 after receiving reports of a man in his 30s crashing into a power pole near the road.

The resulting crash “obliterated” the power pole and scattered power lines across the surrounding area.

Although able to remove himself from the vehicle, the man suffered significant chest injuries and was flown to Rockhampton Hospital by the CapRescue helicopter.

A Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service spokeswoman on Monday said the man had been discharged from the hospital.

Ergon were called to the scene and made the area safe.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations are ongoing.

Following on from this incident, paramedics responded to another single vehicle crash in The Range at 4.13am this morning.

One male sustained minor injuries after crashing into a tree on Upper Dawson Rd.

He was transported to Rockhampton Hospital.
